- Ensure classrooms, toilets, offices, passages, and school facilities are cleaned and sanitized regularly, including mopping floors, emptying bins, and replenishing supplies.
- Assist with pest control and the safe application of garden chemicals when necessary.
- Support overall cleanliness and safety of the school environment, both indoors and outdoors.
Equipment Care:
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on gardening tools and equipment.
- Report any major equipment malfunctions to the maintenance supervisor.
Safety & compliance:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations related to ground maintenance.
- Ensure safe storage and handling of all gardening chemicals and tools.
Support for school events:
- Assist in setting up outdoor areas for school events and activities.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure the grounds are prepared for various functions.
- Assisting with events on a weekend and/or after hours.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER – BABYLONSTOREN SIMONDIUM
Requirements:
- A completed National Senior Certificate qualification (matric/Grade 12)
- 2-5 years’ experience in general facility maintenance.
- Experience in the fields of plumbing, electrical, and construction would be advantageous.
- Experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance would be advantageous.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English with professional communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Honest and hardworking.
