The first Radio Tygerberg IsiXhosa Life after Matric took place at the Luhlaza High School today. It was a busy morning assisting learners with practical plans to kickstart their future. The various partners could give hands on advise, inspiration and guidance to the learners.
The Radio Tygerberg 104FM team also spent some time in the area visiting various charities.
The Life after Matric event addressed critical matters including:
- Prepared learners emotionally for when they receive their results in January 2019.
- Presented possible alternatives to those who might not get the desired matric results.
- Unpacked what is meant by a “gap year” and provide possible options.
- Some learners did not apply to study in 2019 and they did not apply for bursaries either. If they happen to pass matric and meet some university’s requirements, what are their options?
- Stakeholders included:Forward Fund Academy, NYDA – National Youth Development Agency, Falsebay College, Media Village NaspersLabs, NSFAS, King Price Insurance, Silulo Ulutho Technologies ,Western Cape Government Office of the Premierhttps://www.westerncape.gov.za/facility/langa-chesire-home
